I am not in the market for a very sexy 20″ TFT monitor.

Kind of nearly affordable in a 12 months interest free credit kind of way.
I mean, as they rightly point out, it does match my PowerBook…

but for £999? I mean really. As you point out, they are very sexy and yes, they do match your laptop, but you could buy a 19" for less than half the price…

£999 - ~10% education discount, mind.
But yeah, there are some pretty tasty 19" iiyama/sony monitors out there around the £6-700 mark.
I am quite enamoured with the whole 16:9 thing though, and there only seem to be a couple of competing widescreen monitors around, none of which seem in the same kind of league as the apple one. there’s a sony 23" one for ~£1300 or a whole bunch of 17" ones, which are a little pointless, considering i already have a 17" monitor…
and look at the bezel! it’s tiny - none of this ’stick some dirty little speakers in there to hide how wide it is’ rubbish.
oh, what’s a boy to do?

Did you see that they went for the VESA compliant mount as well. So you can wall mount it if you’re living in the smallest flat in the world…
I agree about the 16:9 thing, its so much nicer than 4:3. Is there anyway of watching TV on it without having to pipe it through your mac?
